Rare Beauty Review

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation

I love to try out foundations, its like my makeup guilty pleasure. When I heard that Selena Gomez was coming out with Rare Beauty, I knew I had to try it out. I am a long time fan of hers, and I think she understands a simple but classic look. One of my best friends, Alejandra, check out her blog here (Girl with Glam), and I have different skin types and are different skin colors. She opted for 270N while I chose shade 250W, and it was a good match. There are 48 shades available and Sephora can color match based on previous products you have tried.

I don’t self-tan at the moment so it could be a little dark for me, but it works for now. This foundation is comfortable to wear, and you can build on it depending on the coverage you need. It also feels weightless and would say it is medium to full coverage. The only con I think is that you have to work quickly with the product. But, I think it works well on oily skin. I would give a 4.5 out of 5. It has a doe-foot applicator and is 1.0 fluid ounces and retails for $29.

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Liquid Touch Foundation Brush

As far as foundation brushes go, this one I would give a 3 out of 5. It gets the job done, but it isn’t anything too special. I would skip on the brush if you have something better in your beauty stash. The foundation brush retails for $28.

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez with Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm

Wow, if there is any piece in this collection that was totally worth it, this lip balm is one of them. I have the shade Support, and wow, the color payoff is incredible. It is a brown plum color. I was shocked when I put it on how a little goes a long way. If you like Glossier’s Generation G lipstick, you will LOVE this. It also is super smooth and doesn’t transfer. I would give a 4.5 out of 5. The lip balm retails for $16.

Overall, I love the package and look of the collection. I already can’t wait to see more products come out. But what caught my eye was the fact that it is a mission-driven brand. Rare Beauty will donate 1% of all sales to the Rare Impact Fund, aiming to increase access to mental health resources.
